Ministry of Sound is a nightclub based in South London’s Elephant & Castle. Usually referred as MoS, this superb club is always ranked in the TOP 10 best clubs in the world by the best magazines in the matter.
Created by DJ Justin Berkmann back in 1991, his intention was to open London’s first club with rooms dedicated to sound’s quality in first place. Berkmann stated: “My concept for Ministry was purely this: 100% sound system first, lights second, design third; the reverse of everyone else’s idea”. Justin’s wishes came true and MoS has been a vocal point for clubbers and remains London’s longest serving dance floor for more than 20 years.
This huge club is composed of five main areas; The Box cointains the club’s primary sound-system, with a specially designed roof that contains most of the sound and a sprung floor intended to enable clubbers to dance and have fun for many hours without tiring too much.
The Gallery is a long running and traditional trance night that has made its home every Friday at Ministry of Sound. One can expect large sets from Paul Oakenfold to Sander van Doorn. At the infamous Saturday Sessions, MoS gives Londoners everything between deep techno, fidget house, electro and much more. However, if you are a student in London, you should definitely try London’s Biggest Weekly Student Night – Milk Shake. It happens every Tuesday during university term time. For just £5 every student with a proper ID gets in this amazing super club!
To finish all we can say is that you will have a fabulous night at Ministry of Sound! One can not ask for anything better in London’s night scene. All the self respecting club junkies around the city should give Ministry a try. You will find many music rooms with different beats and people from all over the world. Enjoy it this week!
